The electric skateboard stands out for its ability to offer smooth and fun riding, combining the advantages of several sports. Like any sport, it requires a learning period to master the basics and ensure your safety. Here are some tips for electric skateboard beginners.
How to Use an Electric Skateboard
Electric skateboards take the basic concepts of classic skateboarding and combine them with elements from other sports like snowboarding and surfing (which is why we call it the endless wave)
The first thing to consider before even getting on the board is to start gently. Accelerate, lean, and brake gradually. Give yourself space and anticipate your braking distances with a margin of error.
The second thing to remember when you ride is the importance of where you place your weight. To accelerate, lean forward with your head aligned over your front foot. To brake, put your weight on your back foot. The forward and backward lean should adjust to your speed.
Take your time to get used to these sensations and enjoy the ride!

What is the Best Electric Skateboard for Beginners
A good electric skateboard for beginners is one that combines high build quality that a novice can rely on and is not intimidating to use. Fortunately, at Evolve, no matter which board you choose, they all meet these criteria. Every board is made with the best available materials and they offer 4 riding modes including a beginner mode for smooth acceleration and braking.

Take Safety Seriously
It is very common in the skate world to see people riding without protection and without a helmet. But remember, those people are not riding a board reaching top speeds of 50 km/h, you are.
So take the time to gear up properly. This means wearing a helmet at minimum but also, as a beginner, knee pads, elbow pads and even skate gloves are a good starting point.
Be Visible on the Road
Evolve electric skateboards are excellent during the day, but they provide a different sensation during night rides.
To see where you're going and to be seen by others, it's good to equip your board (and yourself) with some lighting for those darker hours. There are many lighting options available from Evolve to help you. Front, rear and side lights can all be customized to your preferences.
Look Where You Want to Go
As an electric skateboard beginner, making mistakes is part of the game. At some point during your ride, you will likely take a turn and feel like you're going too fast. When this happens, you have two choices: either bail from the board hoping you won't get hurt, or lean more into the turn. If you look outside the turn or at the obstacle you really don't want to hit, it's already too late. But if you look inside the turn, where you want to go, you'll be surprised at the turns you can make.
The reasons are both mental and scientific. Mentally, if you look in the direction of the turn you want to take, you'll feel more comfortable leaning into it. Scientifically, the head is heavy (about 5 kg) and if it's not tilted into the turn, there's a considerable amount of weight working against you when you need it most.
